The building is wheelchair accessible and provides over 1300 square feet in the main section of the library with an additional 285 square feet in the children’s section for leisurely borrowing or reading.

Collections

We have all the latest in fiction, non-fiction, bestsellers, mysteries, inspirational, westerns as well as the classics you remember from your childhood.  We also offer large print materials, audio books on both cassettes and CDs, videos in both VHS and DVD format.  We have a reference section available both in book format as well as on the computer.

We have a large children’s section with Junior Fiction, Junior Easy, Junior Easy Reader and Young Adult books available for younger readers.  We also have a good non-fiction section for  those junior readers who are interested in the world at large.

Public Access Computers

Border Regional Library, Elkhorn Branch provides six computers for public use. Although there is no charge to use these computers, there is a time limit of one hour. Both colour and black printing are available for the nominal charge of 25 cents for black and 50 cents for colour. Our staff offer a limited amount of help concerning computer use.

History

While the library in Elkhorn started its history at the Masonic Hall in September of 1959, the library has been located at the present address since the early 1970s.
